Westgate, FL Area Overview

Westgate is a residential neighborhood in Palm Beach, Florida. Located just to the west of downtown West Palm Beach and north of the Palm Beach International Airport, this well-established community benefits from a central location and proximity to a range of commercial locations and services.

The borders of Westgate are Okeechobee Boulevard to the north, Florida Mango Road to the east, Military Trail to the west, and Belvedere Road to the south.

Military Trail and Okeechobee Boulevard are the main routes to and from Westgate, and their intersection marks the center of a large commercial center with many businesses. From this location, Palm Beach is  a little over ten minutes away to the east, and downtown West Palm Beach is a few minutes short of that.

The I-95 runs north to south past Westgate, connecting to locations up and down the coast like Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Daytona Beach to the north.

Westgate’s neighbors are Stacey Street to the west, Keiser University Campus and Palm Beach Lakes to the north, and Palm Beach International Airport to the south. Westgate is truly a great place from which to enjoy southeast Florida, from the rural wilds of Lake Okeechobee to the urban excitement of Palm Beach, and locations up and down the coast of this sought after area, Westgate has it covered.

This walkable beachside community has many beautiful homes, unique eateries, galleries, and boutique stores.

Closer to Westgate itself, there are many parks and natural spaces, like the entry to the Apoxee Trail extending into the Grassy Waters Preserve. There is the Mounts Botanical Gardens a short distance away, and Lake Lytal Park with a large olympic pool and aquatic center, soccer and ball fields, playgrounds, and tennis courts.

Westgate is home to many smaller community parks, like Golfview Heights and the Westgate Park and Recreation Center, with fields and other sports facilities, playgrounds, a clubhouse/community center and water feature.

For students, there is West Gate Elementary and Keiser University just to the north. For shopping, dining, and entertainment, there are locations like Walmart, the Cross County Plaza shopping center, and many restaurants along Okeechobee Boulevard.
