Tequesta Area Overview
Tequesta is an incorporated village in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 5,629 at the 2010 Census.
It was founded in the 1950s as a planned community centered on the Tequesta Country Club - it was named after the Tequesta people.
Located along U.S. Highway 1, Tequesta is the northernmost municipality in the South Florida-Miami metropolitan area. Downtown Miami is about a 2 hour drive via Florida’s Turnpike, while Port St. Lucie is about a 45 minute drive north.
Palm Beach International is the nearest major airport to Tequesta.

Residents of Tequesta are blessed to be close to so many amazing places.
One of those amazing places is Coral Cove Park. If you want to spend the day with breathtaking ocean views, or want to try some swimming or snorkeling, this is the perfect place to go.
Another reason to visit is the wildlife. The beach features natural limestone, which is part of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge. These rocks, as well as the reefs, are inhabited by lots of marine wildlife, including fish and sea turtles. The beach will also regularly feature a large collection of shells - perfect for those who enjoy collecting them!
The park area has lots of open space, and contains covered picnic areas with tables, built-in grills, a kid’s playground and showers - all of this makes it a perfect day at the beach.
Another excellent place to visit for a day is the Saint Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. Located on the Intercoastal Waterway, this park provides opportunities for scuba diving, boating, fishing, snorkeling, swimming and picnicking.
Living in Florida is every golf lover’s dream, and Tequesta is no different. It’s home to some immaculate courses, most notably the Tequesta Country Club and the Turtle Creek Club. Both are very highly regarded by residents who love to play 18 holes.
Tequesta is also home to the Tequesta Brewing Co. (TBC). Beer lovers will love it here, as the organic brewery turns out 40-plus beers each year. It's an ideal place to stay cool on a warm summer’s day. You can sample them in the tasting room - and take home a growler or two of your favorites.
